How to make a photo mosaic

Step 1 — Choose your main image
The main image is the picture your mosaic becomes when you stand back from it. It works best when the subject is clear and the contrast is strong: a face, a couple, a pet, a landmark. Busy or low-contrast images are harder to “read” once they’re rebuilt from tiles.
